Know Before Going

Playa Grande is a small (63 unit) luxurious community on a pristine 7 mile beach that is mostly undeveloped. The closest main town to Playa Grande is Cihuatlan, which is between the airport and the resort. It is 14 km. away. Barra da Navidad and Melaque are 17 and 18 km. away respectively to the north.

Barra and Melaque both offer great restaurants and shopping, the front desk can offer advice on both depending on your needs. Cihuatlan has a larger grocery store that offers all you would need for your stay above and beyond what is offered in the convenience store on-site.

Taxi fares to these towns and the airport are as follows (from Playa Grande): Airport– 520 pesos, Barra da Navidad–130 pesos, Melaque– 150 pesos, and Cihuatlan–100 pesos. The front desk can pre-arrange pick-up at the airport if you wish and also has a recommended selection of taxis and drivers to choose from.

Many of our guests elect to rent a vehicle for at least part of their visit in order to do some shopping, visit restaurants and explore the local region. Rental cars are available at the airport and can be reserved ahead on-line. Once again, the front desk would be happy to help you arrange a rental car after your arrival if you wish or pre-arrange rentals for airport pick-up if desired.
